Here are your new officers for the 2013 year!
President
Tracie Hinnant
My name is Tracie Hinnant and I am an art major with a
concentration in photography. I currently hold the position of secretary of The
Darkslide. I have been helping run the blog and was integral in getting The
Darkslide a fan page. As president, I would like to make The Darkslide more
well-known on campus and more accessible to all students on campus while also
planning workshops, gallery walks, and even more events to bring a fervor to
the KSU campus for photography. I am passionate about photography and spreading
the knowledge I have acquired so far at KSU. I am extremely organized and
dedicated to finishing a goal to the highest efficiency.
Treasurer
Jenny Woodall
My name is Jenny Woodall and I am a photography major here
at KSU. Lately, I have been exploring mixed media in my artwork. The combining
of drawing and sculpture with photography has inspired me to believe that there
is a way for people to view photography more as an art form. Being an officer
of the photo club, I wish to help our club organize workshops that are
all-inclusive, so that people may explore the beauties of photography as art. I
believe that I would be most beneficial to the club as Treasurer since I am
very trustworthy and I also have 9 years experience handling money in a
professional setting.
Events Coordinator
Taylor Kanani Tolbert
HELLO! My name is Taylor, I am a senior here at KSU. I began
in the art department with intentions to concentrate in drawing and painting
but shortly after switched to photography. I have leadership experience in a
club setting and I hope to coordinate several events for the members of this
club with the help of my fellow officers! I look forward to seeing and
contributing to the growth of this club and getting to know all of its members.
Happy art making!
We are still seeking someone to fill the role of the club's vice president and secretary! Message thedarkslideksu@gmail.com, or the club's facebook if you are interested!
Vice President

ELECTIONS
Do you want to be a major part of The Darkslide?
HOW TO BECOME AN OFFICER: Go to The Darkslide KSU on Facebook. Like the page and send us a message with what position you would like to run for or email thedarkslideksu@gmail.com .
As most of you know, pretty much all of the officials for our club are graduating! (Our president, Vice President, Treasurer, and Events Coordinator to be exact). So, we need to have elections for the next year (beginning spring 2013 and ending fall 2013).
These are the positions:
President: Essentially, the president does everything (with the help of others), and is the main person in charge of orchestrating club activities. You will attend RSO (registered student organization) meetings, and be the main communicator with the university)
Vice President: The president's right hand person/support system. You would do much of the same things as the president, and will work with them to keep things in the club running smoothly!
Secretary: Your main job is to handle the paper work, record meetings, and even help take care of our online presence.
Treasurer: Keeps track of club money. That includes dues, SABAC funds, money from fundraisers etc.
Events Coordinator: Plans events for the club. There is a system to go through in order to plan club events on campus
The continuation of this club into next year is extremely important. After this semester is over, The Darkslide will have officially been a KSU club for a year. Which means, we will finally be eligible for SABAC funding. If you don't know what that is, it essentially is the main funding body for clubs in our university. With SABAC funds, you can have field trips across the country, sign up for amazing workshops that normally no one could afford, and even buy equipment (film, paper, chemicals) for club use on someone else's dime.
